Latham & Watkins partners Glen Ireland and Philip J. Perry have been recognized for client service excellence in an annual survey of US corporate leaders conducted by BTI Consulting Group. The “BTI 2013 Client Service All-Stars” list is based on feedback by corporate counsel and executives at Fortune 1000 companies and large financial institutions, and it includes attorneys who represent “the leaders of client service excellence” in the legal profession, according to BTI Consulting.
Ireland, a partner in the firm’s London office, has a broad range of experience in the mining and metals industry, including advising on the development of early-stage mineral exploration projects, significant mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, initial public offerings and stock exchange listings, capital markets transactions, and mining project developments and financings. He is a regular speaker at mining industry conferences and teaches at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy on mining agreements.
Perry, a litigation partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, handles a range of complex litigation and federal administrative law matters, as well as a variety of commercial disputes. Over the past decade, Perry has served in a number of prominent and senior positions in the US government, including at the US Department of Justice, the White House and the US Department of Homeland Security. Since returning from government service to Latham, Perry’s practice has included a specific focus on biotechnology, on complex government contracting issues, on a variety of environmental issues (specifically including NEPA and endangered species matters), and on cutting edge FDA matters. He has resolved multiple commercial disputes through arbitration or mediation, and has counseled clients in matters involving chemical facility security, CFIUS issues, SAFETY Act matters, and a on number of related security questions.
