Latham Scoops Multiple Benchmark Litigation Awards

Benchmark Litigation

April 15, 2022

Several practice areas and individual attorneys in Latham & Watkins’ Litigation & Trial Department were recognized at the 2022 Benchmark Litigation Awards, which honor “impressive performance and influence on the legal landscape over the past year” in the United States.

Latham was named the top law firm in Benchmark’s national Intellectual Property and Securities categories, and was honored as the leading Antitrust firm on the US West Coast, reflecting the market-pacing client work of the firm’s global Intellectual Property Litigation, Securities Litigation & Professional Liability, and Antitrust & Competition practices.

Individual awards were bestowed on Daniel Wall as the top Antitrust Litigator in the west, and Sean Berkowitz as the top national White Collar/Investigations Litigator – with Latham and Berkowitz also recognized in an Impact Case award win for US vs Winemaster, in which Latham secured an almost unheard-of complete defense verdict for the former chief executive officer and co-founder of Power Solutions, Inc., Gary Winemaster, in a 14-count federal criminal action.

In addition, Latham was named a finalist in Benchmark’s national White Collar/Investigations category and in the Silicon Valley firm category, and the following partners were shortlisted for awards: Michael Morin (national) for Intellectual Property Litigator; Andrew Clubok (national) and Michele Johnson (west) for Securities Litigator; Doug Lumish for Silicon Valley Litigator; and Daniel Wall for San Francisco Litigator.

“To be recognized so universally by Benchmark Litigation underscores the historic year our Litigation & Trial team has had. With a team of more than 900 top-flight litigators, Latham has built a stellar reputation for bringing expertise, insight, and a winning record in the courtroom on behalf of our clients.”
