Robert M. Dell Honored with AJC Judge Learned Hand Award

American Jewish Committee

June 12, 2014

In recognition of his extraordinary leadership and contributions to the legal profession and the community, Latham & Watkins’ Global Chair and Managing Partner, Robert M. Dell, received the American Jewish Committee 2014 Judge Learned Hand Award at a June 10 gala event in San Francisco.

Each year, AJC San Francisco honors an outstanding leader in the legal profession who embodies and exemplifies democratic values with the award named in memory of a legendary figure, Judge Learned Hand, senior judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit from 1924 to 1951. Judge Hand was widely admired as a dean among American jurists and was famous for the extensive range of decisions that he rendered in more than 2,000 cases, particularly in matters centered on questions of constitutional rights.

For over a century, the American Jewish Committee has advanced democratic values around the world by promoting pluralism, tolerance and civil rights.
