Latham Advises OMERS on Group14 Technologies’ US$400 Million Series C

Funding round aims to accelerate global production of lithium-silicon battery materials.

Latham & Watkins advised OMERS Capital Markets (OMERS) on its investment, alongside Porsche AG, in the US$400 million Series C funding round of Group14 Technologies, a global manufacturer and supplier of advanced silicon-carbon technology for lithium-silicon batteries.

OMERS’ investment and partnership with Group14 Technologies will be overseen by its global Capital Solutions team, which is focused on identifying and executing on complex opportunities across a number of themes, including decarbonisation, clean-tech, and life sciences.

The Latham team was led by London corporate partner Mike Turner, with associate Ryan Martin.
