The third edition covers global project financing terminology, with nearly 200 new terms.

February 11, 2020

Latham & Watkins LLP1 is pleased to launch the third edition of The Book of Jargon® – Project Finance, an interactive glossary for the business, academic, and legal community. Covering everything from Accelerate to Zoning, the user-friendly reference tool was designed to make the complex language of the project finance industry accessible to all, in particular the business and legal executives who work in the sector.

With more than 1,000 definitions, this popular resource introduces nearly 200 new terms, including: Open Season, Soft Cell, and Margin Stock. Dozens of lawyers across the firm’s Project Development & Finance Practice collaborated to update the glossary to reflect the latest developments and verbiage used through all aspects of a project’s development, financing, and operation, with an increased focus on renewable energy projects, tax equity financing, and hedging transactions.

Jeff Greenberg, Global Chair of the Project Development & Finance Practice, said, “The third edition of The Book of Jargon® – Project Finance demonstrates that Latham has its finger on the pulse of the ever-evolving market. We harnessed our global experience and looked at both traditional and progressive project financing structures to expand this already fulsome resource.”

The Book of Jargon® – Project Finance is available in print, as an e-book, and as a free mobile app in the App Store and on Google Play. It can also be accessed on the firm’s Project Development & Finance Practice page.

Latham’s Book of Jargon® series provides a comprehensive A-Z library of industry terms. Other topics include: Cryptocurrency & Blockchain Technology, Emerging Companies, European Capital Markets and Bank Finance, Global Mergers & Acquisitions, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Hedge Funds, International Arbitration, Master Limited Partnerships, Oil & Gas, Patent Trial & Appeal Board, Restructuring & Special Situations, and US Corporate and Bank Finance.
