Latham & Watkins Advises Lead Investors in Wealthsimple’s Series D Financing

An emerging companies team advises Meritech and Greylock as lead investors in the Canadian unicorn’s financing.

Wealthsimple, the company behind some of Canada's leading digital financial products, has announced it has signed a CAD$750 million financing round at a post-money valuation of CAD$5 billion. The round is led by Meritech and Greylock.

Latham & Watkins LLP represents Meritech and Greylock in the financing with an emerging companies team led by Bay Area partner Ben Potter, with Chicago associate Jana Kovich and Bay Area associate Eunnie Lee. Advice was also provided on tax matters by Bay Area partner Katharine Moir.
