Latham & Watkins Advises Linode in its Acquisition by Akamai Technologies

Firm advises the infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform in the transaction.

Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), the world's most trusted solution to power and protect digital experiences, has announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Linode, one of the easiest-to-use and most trusted infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform providers.

Latham & Watkins LLP represents Linode on the transaction with a corporate deal team led by Century City/Los Angeles partner Jason Silvera and Houston partner James Garrett, with Houston associates Jonathan Villa, Carlyle Reid, and Zek Zhang. Advice was also provided on tax matters by Los Angeles partner Larry Stein and Houston partner Jim Cole, with Houston associate Christine Mainguy; on benefits and compensation matters by Los Angeles partner David Taub and Chicago partner Ninevah Alkhas, with Los Angeles associate Joseph Benedetto and Chicago associate Ana Cenaj; on intellectual property and data privacy matters by Bay Area partner Michelle Gross, with Bay Area associate Amy Tosi; and on intellectual property litigation matters by Bay Area partner Andrew Gass.
