International Financial Law Review (IFLR) recognized Latham & Watkins’ work on two Deals of the Year at the 2019 IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards. The awards highlight Latham’s representation of Noble Group bondholders in the Restructuring category and Clifford Capital Pte. Ltd in the Structured Finance and Securitisation category.

In the Restructuring Deal of the Year, Latham represented perpetual bond holders of Noble Group Ltd. in connection with the group’s US$3.5 billion restructuring – one of the largest of 2018. Under the plan, the bond-holding group, which collectively held more than 25% of the perpetual bonds, received a substantial recovery.

In the Structured Finance and Securitisation deal, Latham advised Singapore-based Clifford Capital, as the sponsor, manager, and subordinated note investor of the first infrastructure project finance securitisation in Asia.

IFLR also named Latham US Law Firm of the Year at the 2018 IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards. The event recognises legally innovative teams and deals in the Asia-Pacific region.
