Latham & Watkins' San Francisco office has a long tradition of service to the community, and has donated approximately 42,280 pro bono hours since 2010, valued at approximately US$19.9 million.
Latham has long-standing relationships with several Bay Area public interest organizations, including:
- AIDS Legal Referral Panel
- Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach
- Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights
- Legal Services for Children
- Legal Services for Entrepreneurs
The office also has a strong relationship with Not For Sale, a Bay Area organization devoted to ending human trafficking and slavery, and continues to participate in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal Pro Bono Program and various California District Court referral panels.
In addition, the San Francisco office works with the All Stars Project (ASP), an organization focused on providing educational and performing arts opportunities for thousands of economically disadvantaged and minority young people. Working with ASP’s Development School for Youth, which connects inner-city young people with the business community through workshops and paid summer internships, the office hosts and provides leadership workshops for ASP participants, employs ASP interns, and takes part in an array of ASP events and fundraisers.
