Anna Rathbun is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins. She is a member of the Litigation & Trial Department and the firm’s nationally recognized Antitrust & Competition Practice. Ms. Rathbun focuses on defense of corporate clients in complex civil litigation and class actions, and in national and global antitrust cartel investigations.

Ms. Rathbun has experience in a wide variety of civil antitrust matters, including class actions, business-to-business litigation, and merger challenges. Ms. Rathbun regularly represents clients appearing before the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice (DOJ), state attorneys general, and foreign antitrust enforcers relating to price-fixing allegations.

Ms. Rathbun’s practice has spanned a range of different industries including:

  • Building products
  • Healthcare

Ms. Rathbun’s recent successes include a successful jury verdict on behalf of a building products manufacturer in a trade secrets litigation, and assisting a client in obtaining the first global resolution of criminal and civil claims (including antitrust and False Claims Act claims) brought by the United States Government on favorable terms. Ms. Rathbun was also a lead team member in the firm’s representation of an auto parts manufacturer in a large multidistrict litigation, successfully managing discovery and pretrial motions practice, ultimately leading to a settlement on very favorable terms.

While attending the University of Michigan Law School, Ms. Rathbun served as an Articles Editor of the Michigan Law Review.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Rathbun served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Kyrgyz Republic from 2005 to 2007.
