Profile Experience

Andria Varnavides is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Corporate Department. Ms. Varnavides advises clients on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, and general corporate matters.

Prior to qualification, Ms. Varnavides trained in the firm’s London office, gaining experience in corporate and leveraged finance transactions. She also spent six months on client secondment at private equity firm CVC Capital Partners.

Ms. Varnavides’ recent experience includes advising:

  • NVIDIA on its US$40 billion acquisition of Arm Limited, the Cambridge-headquartered semiconductor and software design company, from SoftBank. The combination brings together NVIDIA’s leading AI computing platform with Arm’s vast ecosystem to create the premier computing company for the age of AI
  • GlaxoSmithKline on the divestment of its Prevacid®24HR business to Perrigo Company
  • Sony Pictures Television on its acquisition of Silvergate Media, a company focussing on developing, producing, and licensing children’s animation with offices in both London and New York
  • Virgin Galactic (NYSE: SPCE) in connection with its merger with Social Capital Hedosophia
  • CVC Capital Partners’ Growth Fund on its strategic investment in OMADA A/S, a global leader of Identity Governance and Administration software and services
  • Astorg Partners on the acquisition by its leading multi-jurisdictional corporate services provider, SGG, of Lawson Conner
  • Theramex, a global specialty pharmaceutical company dedicated to women’s healthcare, in connection with the US$703 million acquisition by CVC Capital Partners of women’s healthcare assets from Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.
  • The Carlyle Group and The Nature’s Bounty Co. on the £1.77 billion sale of Holland & Barrett, one of Europe’s largest health and wellness retailers
  • Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping in connection with its acquisitions of Camfaud Concrete Pumps, Premier Concrete Pumping, and South Coast Concrete Pumping, UK-based companies providing concrete pumping and material placements services
  • The Royal Bank of Scotland, ING, Lloyds, Bank of Ireland, and Partners Group as mandated lead arrangers on the senior secured facilities for the acquisition by Ardian France of Envision Pharma
