Charles Anderson is an associate in the Singapore office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm's Finance Department. He started his career in London and has also spent time on secondment in Latham’s Tokyo office. 

Mr. Anderson advises project developers/sponsors, project companies, and financiers (including commercial banks, export credit agencies, multilaterals, and development banks) on the development and financing of infrastructure, power, oil and gas, and natural resources projects across Asia, Australia, and Europe.


Mr. Anderson's experience includes advising:

  • Galaxy Pipeline, UAE – Galaxy Pipeline Assets Bidco Limited on its public offering of US$4 billion senior secured bonds, to part refinance a c.US$8 billion term acquisition loan which the company borrowed in June 2020 to finance the acquisition of a 47.7% stake in ADNOC Gas Pipeline Assets LLC — considered to be the largest infrastructure deal of the year in the oil and sector (US$8 billion) and won Middle East Infrastructure Deal of the Year 2020 by PFI (Project Finance International)
  • GIC Private Limited on its proposed acquisition, through its affiliate Arran Investment Pte Ltd, of a 17.5% ownership stake in AC Energy Philippines for an aggregate consideration of c. PHP20 billion (c. US$420 million)
  • Solar Power Project, Bangladesh – The development banks on the project financing of a PV solar power project in Bangladesh — one of the first private sector solar projects in Bangladesh to be financed by multilateral institutions
  • Solar Power Project, Myanmar – A consortium of commercial bank lenders in the project financing of a solar power project in Myanmar
  • Cirebon 2 Expansion Project, Indonesia – PT Cirebon Energi Prasarana, Marubeni Corporation, Korea Midland Power, PT Indika Energy, Samtan, JERA, and PT Imeco Inter Sarana in the US$1.74 billion project financing of the 1000-MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired Cirebon 2 Power Plant Expansion Project in West Java, Indonesia
  • Rantau Dedap Geothermal Power Project, Indonesia – Asian Development Bank, JBIC, NEXI, and a consortium of commercial bank lenders in the US$701 million project financing of the 98.4-MW Rantau Dedap Geothermal Power Project in South Sumatra, Indonesia — named Geothermal Deal of the Year at IJGlobal Asia Pacific Awards 2018
  • Muara Laboh Geothermal Power Project, Indonesia – Asian Development Bank, JBIC, Nippon Export and Investment Insurance, and the commercial bank lenders in the US$440 million project financing of the 80-MW Muara Laboh Geothermal Power Project in West Sumatra, Indonesia — of the pioneer new generation geothermal projects undertaken under the Fast Track 2 program and one of the first projects to successfully negotiate the new, agreed bankable form of government support under the Fast Track 2 program
  • Sarulla Geothermal Power Project, Indonesia – JBIC, Asian Development Bank, and the commercial bank lenders in the project financing of the Sarulla geothermal power project in North Sumatra, Indonesia — the largest single geothermal power project in Indonesia and at the forefront of new geothermal developments in Indonesia under the Fast Track 2 program
  • Tanjung Jati B 5&6 Power Project, Indonesia – JBIC in the US$3.35 billion project financing of the 2 x 1000-MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired Tanjung Jati B 5&6 Power Project in Jepara, Central Java, Indonesia
  • Petrochemical Project, Malaysia – The sponsors and project company on the project development and multi-sourced financing of a petrochemical project in Malaysia
  • Petrochemical Project, Indonesia – The sponsors and project company on the project development and multi-sourced financing of a petrochemical project in Indonesia
  • Ichthys LNG Project Refinancing, Australia – The lenders in the US$4.98 billion project debt refinancing for the Ichthys LNG Project in Australia
  • Hydroelectric Power Projects, Indonesia – Korea Midland Power, as project sponsor, on the development and financing of 55MW - 114MW hydroelectric power projects in Sumatra, Indonesia
  • Sirius Minerals Potash Project, UK – Hancock British Holdings Ltd in its investment into the Sirius Minerals Potash Project, an underground polyhalite mine in North Yorkshire, UK
  • Stadium Financing, Italy – The lenders on the project development of a football stadium in Italy
