Christopher Campbell, a litigation partner, advises clients on domestic and international antitrust matters and complex commercial litigation. Mr. Campbell represents both domestic and foreign corporations in antitrust enforcement activity across the globe — including in the United States, Brazil, Europe, Korea, and Taiwan.

His record reflects an impressive ability to manage complex litigation and regulatory matters across multiple domestic and international jurisdictions and to deliver successful outcomes for clients, including guiding clients through confidential government investigations that close successfully without enforcement actions. Mr. Campbell also has extensive experience defending putative class actions and has defeated class certification several times.

Mr. Campbell is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and an active member of the ABA Antitrust Section and Bar Association of San Francisco. He is a regular contributor to the ABA Antitrust Section’s Annual Review of Antitrust Law Developments, and has co-authored several articles related to antitrust enforcement in various jurisdictions.

Mr. Campbell clerked for Chief Judge Vaughn R. Walker and Chief Judge James Ware of the United States District Court, Northern District of California.

Mr. Campbell’s matters include representing:

  • Toshiba in a multidistrict class action alleging price fixing in the optical disk drive industry. Representation involved civil and criminal enforcement actions in the US and several foreign jurisdictions. Won summary judgement in US civil case and successfully resolved several foreign proceedings.
  • Oracle
    • In a copyright infringement and antitrust action involving a third-party service provider. Obtained a US$57 million stipulated judgment.
    • In a copyright infringement and intentional interference action against Hewlett Packard.
    • In a high-profile breach of contract and unfair competition trial with Hewlett Packard related to the Intel Itanium microprocessor.
  • Union Pacific Railroad in a multidistrict putative class action related to the rail freight industry.
  • Live Nation and Ticketmaster in connection with multiple federal and state antitrust consumer class actions concerning secondary ticket sales on Ticketmaster’s website.
  • Apple in numerous matters.
  • Emerson Electric in separate cases alleging anticompetitive conduct in the table saw and kitchen appliance industries.
  • The United States Soccer Federation in litigation brought by a promoter claiming that the Federation and Major League Soccer entered into an unlawful agreement in restraint of trade.
  • A former CFO in a stock options backdating enforcement action by the SEC.
  • An escrow company accused of involvement with a real estate fraud and money laundering scheme.
