Corey Calabrese is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins, and is a member of the firm’s Securities Litigation & Professional Liability, White Collar Defense & Investigations, and Complex Commercial Litigation Practices. Ms. Calabrese’s practice focuses on securities and class action litigation, SEC and other regulatory investigations, antitrust, and complex commercial litigation for large corporations, investment firms, and financial institutions.

Ms. Calabrese was a member of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee and recipient of its Pro Bono Star Award in 2018.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Calabrese clerked for Judge Dora L. Irizarry, U.S.D.J. and Judge Vera M. Scanlon, U.S.M.J. in the Eastern District of New York and was a Teaching Fellow in Cornell Law School’s International Human Rights Clinic.

Ms. Calabrese’s experience includes representing:

  • One of the largest technology companies in the world in a securities fraud class action relating to product manufacturing, resulting in a favorable settlement
  • An international bank in two antitrust class actions alleging a group of banks had conspired to set the price of financial benchmarks, resulting in complete dismissal
  • An oil and gas company in a securities fraud class action relating to allegations that the company’s CEO committed fraud and misused company resources, resulting in complete dismissal
  • A pet therapeutics company in a securities class action connected with a delay in the company’s anticipated commercialization of a product following an adverse finding by the FDA, resulting in complete dismissal
  • A hedge fund in its suit against an insurance company that refused to honor the fund’s investments, resulting in a complete victory
  • A global investment manager concerning the sale of disputed securities held in a CDO, resulting in a victory on all claims
