Ignacio Pallarés, a partner in the Corporate Department, advises private equity funds and special opportunity funds, as well as leading Spanish companies, in all aspects of commercial law, with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Pallarés helps major global funds execute private equity transactions involving Spanish entities, and advises Spanish energy and media companies on complex, cross-border M&A deals. He also represents special opportunity funds in restructuring matters in Spain.

With a sophisticated understanding of the local market, Mr. Pallarés frequently advises on transactions involving Spain’s most iconic and important companies. Mr. Pallarés also draws on his broad international experience to steer large-scale divestitures and acquisitions involving public and private entities throughout Europe, Latin America, Asia, and North America.

    • Acquisition of Urbaser, one of the world’s largest providers of environmental services, from China Tianying Inc. for an enterprise value of approximately US$4.2 billion
    • Acquisition of Iberconsa, a global provider of frozen seafood products
  • Triton Partners in the acquisition of Fertiberia, a Spain-based company that manufactures and markets fertilizers and agricultural chemicals, from Grupo Villar Mir
  • The Carlyle Group in the:
    • Acquisition of Altadia Group, a leading Spanish ceramic products manufacturer
    • Acquisition of a majority stake in Codorníu, the oldest family-owned cava producer in Spain
    • Acquisition of Gleva Cellars, a major wine producer based in Spain
    • Acquisition of Digitex Informática Holding, a provider of business process outsourcing services in Spain and Latin America
    • Acquisition of Applus Servicios Tecnológicos, the largest Spanish inspection, certification, and technological services company, for €1.480 million
