Jeffrey Chenard is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the firm’s Private Equity Finance Practice, which he formerly co-chaired. He is Co-Vice Chair of the firm’s Global Finance Department. He has represented private equity sponsors and borrowers in secured lending and other financing transactions, including acquisition financings, cash flow and asset-based loans, mezzanine and subordinated debt facilities, and private equity fund bridge loan facilities.


Mr. Chenard’s recent matters include representation of:

  • The Carlyle Group in connection with numerous acquisition financings, including in connection with the acquisitions of Nouryon (formerly Akzo Nobel Speciality Chemicals), NEP Group, Atotech, Veritas Technologies, Novetta Solutions, Abany Molecular Research, ZeroChaos, Arctic Ice, Dealogic, Custom Sensors and Technologies, RAC Group, Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Chesapeake Packaging, Landmark Aviation, NBTY, Inc., and HCR ManorCare, and in connection with investments in Beats Electronics and Vogue International
  • Onex Corporation in connection with numerous acquisition financings, including SMG Holdings, Clarivate, and Save-A-Lot stores
  • Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. in connection with the financing for the acquisition of Sedgwick Claims Management Services and Alliant Holdings 
  • AXA Private Equity in connection with the refinancing of credit facilities for Photonis Technologies
  • Riverstone Holdings in connection with the financing for the acquisition of Wayne Fueling Services and Hudson Products Corporation
  • SK Capital in connection with the financings for the acquisitions of Addivant and Niacet  
  • Allison Transmissions, Inc., in connection with its senior secured credit facilities
  • CommScope, in connection with its senior secured credit facilities
  • ConvaTec, in connection with its senior secured credit facilities
  • Numerous private equity funds in bridge capital call credit facilities
