Josephine Macintosh is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Global Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Ms. Macintosh advises on a wide range of international competition and regulatory matters, including:

  • Merger control (including Phase I and Phase II merger control investigations before the Competition and Markets Authority and the European Commission, as well as multi-jurisdictional merger control matters)
  • Competition law advice and compliance (for example, in relation to Article 101/Chapter I and Article 102/Chapter II matters, as well as competition law compliance and training programmes for clients)
  • State aid
  • Foreign investment control

Ms. Macintosh’s practice spans multiple sectors and industries, including technology, life sciences and pharmaceuticals, fashion, consumer goods, and telecoms.

Ms. Macintosh advises on pro bono matters with a particular focus human rights. She has previously advised RightsDD, a tech platform for human rights compliance and acted for charity Lotus Flower and Yazidi survivors in seeking reparations, including submissions to the International Criminal Court.*

Ms. Macintosh serves on the Future Leaders Council of the World Wide Web Foundation and on the board of a human rights campaigning organization.

  • Virgin Media on its 50:50 joint venture in the UK with O2*

  • A chemicals company on its planned acquisition by another chemicals business*
  • A technology company on its acquisition of various printing businesses*
  • A security company in the context of a European Commission investigation*
  • A bank in the context of a European Commission investigation*
  • An insurance company in the context of a CMA investigation*
  • Anschutz Entertainment Group in the establishment of a global venue management joint venture with Onex Corporation*
