Joshua W. Marnitz is a member of Latham’s Environment, Land & Resources Department and a member of the firm’s Cleantech, Oil & Gas, Power, and Mining & Metals Industry Groups.

Mr. Marnitz’s practice focuses on complex corporate and finance transactions in the oil and gas, power, renewable energy, manufacturing, and real estate sectors. He advises private equity firms, financial institutions, and corporate clients on environmental and energy regulatory matters, including matters involving the:

  • National Environmental Policy Act
  • Clean Air Act
  • Clean Water Act
  • Endangered Species Act
  • Natural Gas Act
  • Interstate Commerce Act
  • Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA or Superfund)

Mr. Marnitz also has experience with the development and financing of major conventional and renewable energy and infrastructure projects in the United States and abroad.

Mr. Marnitz is a current member of the firm’s Recruiting Committee, and a former member of the Training and Career Enhancement Committee. Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Marnitz was a Law Fellow at the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Washington, D.C. While in law school, Mr. Marnitz was a member of the Journal of Law and Politics and the Virginia Environmental Law Forum.
