Katherine Putnam is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the Finance Department and the Private Equity Finance Practice.

Ms. Putnam has represented both borrowers and lenders in secured lending and other financing transactions, including acquisition financings, cash-flow and asset-based loans, and subordinated debt facilities.

In addition, she has worked for a variety of clients on matters involving secured finance issues and general corporate issues.

She previously served on the firm’s Training & Career Enhancement Committee developing and overseeing in-house training and mentoring programs for associates.

Ms. Putnam’s experience includes representing:

  • SK Capital Partners in its acquisition of SI Group, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of phenolic and alkyl-phenolic resins, alkylated phenols, and other chemical intermediates
  • The Carlyle Group in connection with numerous acquisition financings and refinancings, including for Nouryon (formerly Akzo Nobel Speciality Chemicals), Axalta Coatings Systems, The Nature’s Bounty Co., and Syniverse
  • Onex Corporation in connection with the acquisition financings for Clarivate Analytics and the Parkdean Group
  • Platinum Equity in connection with numerous acquisition financings, including in connection with the acquisitions of American Commercial Lines and BWAY Corporation
  • Broadcom Corporation in connection with its acquisition of LSI Corporation
  • Scientific Games in connection with its senior secured credit facilities, including in connection with its acquisition of Bally Technologies and WMS Industries
  • Rockpoint Gas Storage in connection with its senior secured credit facilities
  • GFL Environmental in connection with cross-border refinancing transactions
  • SK Capital in connection with the financing for the acquisition of Addivant
  • Nordic Capital and its portfolio company, Britax Child Safety
  • The Carlyle Group and Hellman & Friedman in connection with the financing for the acquisition of Pharmaceutical Product Development
  • Onex Corporation and CPP Investment Board in connection with the financing for the acquisition of Tomkins plc
  • Various private and public company borrowers, including Zekelman Industries, Sequa Corporation, and Liberty Tire
