Kirsten Gao is an associate in the Hong Kong office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Corporate Department.

Ms. Gao's practice focuses on M&A and capital markets.

Prior to joining Latham, Ms. Gao worked in the Hong Kong office of a leading international law firm. 

Ms. Gao's recent experience includes advising:

  • Vipshop Holdings Limited, a leading online discount retailer for brands in China, in its approximately US$863 million issuance of Class A ordinary shares to, and concurrent business cooperation arrangements with, Tencent and JD.com
  • Temasek as a co-leading investor on a US$72.8 million round investment in Tongdun Technology, a Chinese fintech startup specializing in risk control*
  • HNA Innovation Finance on its purchase of a 51% equity interest in the petroleum products storage and logistics business from Glencore*
  • HNA Aviation on its acquisition of a controlling stake in SR Technics from Mubadala Development Company (owned by the government of Abu Dhabi)*
  • Ali Health on its asset injection from, and continuing connected transactions with, Alibaba Group*
  • CITIC Limited on its disposal of CNY31 billion real estate assets to China Overseas*
  • CCB International, CIMB, and China Galaxy on the initial public offering and listing of shares in Termbray Petro-king Oilfield Services Limited on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange*
  • Guosen Securities (Overseas) Company Limited on its issuance of CNY1.2 billion 6.4% bonds due 2017. Guotai Junan Securities, Morgan Stanley, Wing Lung Bank, and BOCI Asia were the joint lead managers in the issuance*
  • Asia Maritime Pacific (Hong Kong) on its merger with OSL Holdings to create a US$90 million Asia-Pacific, African, and European shipping company*
  • Yankuang Group Company on its joint venture with Bauxite Resources Limited in Western Australia for refinery of bauxite products*
  • Greenland on its issue of US$200 million, 13.5% Senior Notes due 2016 and its related asset sales and investment restructuring*
