Liliana Ranger is an associate in Latham’s Century City office and a member of the Entertainment, Sports & Media Practice.

Ms. Ranger represents motion picture studios, distribution and production companies, financial institutions, and other entertainment and media clients in transactions involving the acquisition, financing, production, licensing, and exploitation of intellectual property and other media-related assets.

Ms. Ranger's experience includes advising on entertainment-specific mergers and acquisitions; strategic joint venture arrangements; the production, financing, and distribution of motion pictures and television programming; corporate finance transactions; and the capitalization, formation, and launch of new media platforms.

Ms. Ranger’s recent experience includes representing:

  • A24 Films in a wide range of production, distribution, joint venture, acquisition, and financing transactions, including its US$125 million debt facility and multi-project production facility
  • Warner Bros in several acquisition and strategic joint venture transactions, including its lead investment in PictureStart, a media company founded by former
  • Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-president Erik Feig, and its acquisition of DramaFever, a streaming-video subscription service
  • Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in a wide range of corporate financing and joint venture transactions, including its US$2 billion revolving credit facility administered by J.P. Morgan Chase
  • Brad Weston in creation of MAKEREADY, a global content production company with backing from Entertainment One and worldwide distribution by Universal Pictures
  • Mattel, Inc. in co-production arrangements with major studios, and several strategic investment and joint venture transactions, including its partnerships with Babytree and Fosun Group
  • Tencent Pictures in a number of co-production arrangements with major studios
  • Content Partners in multiple co-financing and M&A transactions, including its acquisition of Revolution Studios
  • Legendary Entertainment in its sale to Dalian Wanda for US$3.5 billion
  • beIN Media in its acquisition of Miramax, an independent motion picture and television production and distribution company
  • Participant Media in its acquisition of Rainn Wilson’s SoulPancake, an award-winning digital entertainment company
  • Dasym Investment Strategies in its acquisition of Exclusive Media, an independent motion picture and television production and distribution company
