Michael O’Halloran is an associate in the Corporate Department of Latham & Watkins’ Singapore office. Mr. O’Halloran’s practice covers a range of corporate transactions, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity investment transactions, and general corporate law matters. Mr. O’Halloran has particular experience representing corporates in the natural resources and energy sector.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. O’Halloran was an associate in the Singapore office of an international law firm and prior to that an international law firm in London.


Mr. O’Halloran’s experience includes advising:

  • Facebook on its investment in the second round of Series A financing of GoPay, a subsidiary of Gojek
  • Malton Berhad and its significant shareholder on the investment by Qatar Investment Authority into Regal Path, a joint venture entity, for the acquisition of the Pavilion Bukit Jalil mall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
  • Ruangguru Pte. Ltd., an Indonesia-based online education platform, on its US$150 million Series C funding round
  • Walmart Inc. in the US$16 billion acquisition of a majority stake in Flipkart Private Limited*
  • Navis Capital Partners in the S$284 million sale of its portfolio company, MFS Technology (S) Pte. Ltd., to DCP Capital Partners L.P.*
  • Biffa plc in its £262 million initial public offering of shares on the LSE*
  • Deutsche Börse AG in its aborted £21 billion merger with the London Stock Exchange Group plc*
  • The Independent Non-Executive Directors of JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production in a successful defence against a proposed tender offer from its majority shareholder, JSC NC KazMunaiGas*
  • Alinda Capital Partners on its acquisition and take-private of Energy Assets Group PLC*
  • Glencore in its auction sale of a 40% stake in its agricultural business to CPPIB for US$2.5 billion*
  • An international property and infrastructure development fund on the formation of two new joint ventures between a sovereign wealth fund and a holding company*
  • Various funds in private M&A transactions involving headline sums in excess of US$150 million, the details of which have not been made publicly available.*
