Simon Tysoe is a partner in the Corporate Department of the London office, and served as former Co-Chair of the firm’s Oil & Gas Industry Group. Mr. Tysoe specializes in M&A transactions in the energy sector, and has extensive experience advising clients on a range of cross-border energy and natural resources transactions including upstream, mid-stream, and downstream oil and gas M&A, joint ventures, restructuring, and project development.

  • Carlyle International Energy Partners in connection with its acquisition of Mazarine Energy BV    
  • Uniper Exploration & Production in the sale of a 25% stake in the Yuzhno-Russkoye gas field to OMV
  • Apical Group on the acquisition of a 67.65% stake in Bio-Oils Energy
  • Bomin Linde LNG in its joint venture with SGD logistika to form Blue Gas
  • Buckeye Partners in the acquisition of a 50% stake in VTTI
  • Chevron on the US$900 million sale of its refinery and fuels network in South Africa and Botswana to Sinopec
  • Carlyle International Energy Partners in the acquisition of Shell Upstream Gabon and a 75% stake in Shell Gabon, by portfolio company Assala Energy Holdings
  • Helios Investment Partners on the US$461.3 million acquisition of a 60% stake in the West African downstream business of Oando
  • Helios Investment Partners on its acquisition with Vitol of a majority stake in the West African downstream business of Oando Plc and the formation of OVH Energy
  • EQUATE Petrochemicals Company on its US$3.2 billion acquisition of MEGlobal International
