Tamara Kim is an associate in the Tokyo office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Corporate Department.

Ms. Kim’s practice focuses on investment funds, mergers and acquisitions, healthcare transactions, and general corporate matters. She earned a joint JD/LLM degree in International Business and Economic Law from Georgetown University Law Center, Dean’s List and with distinction.

While in law school, Ms. Kim served as the president of the Korean American Law Students Association and as a law school liaison for the Korean-American Bar Association of Washington, D.C. She also served on the board of OutLaw and the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kim interned with two leading Korean law firms and Samsung Electronics, focusing on cross-border corporate transactions in Korea. She also served as a research assistant for Professor Gary Peller, helping prepare plaintiffs’ motions in multidistrict litigation proceedings against General Motors, and as a legal assistant for Immigrants First, helping represent survivors of gender-based harm in asylum proceedings.
